Rather than giving general statements about experience, candidates who can clearly describe how they have managed specific clinical scenarios tend to stand out. This might include situations such as responding to a patient deterioration, prioritising care during a busy shift, supporting triage decisions, or working effectively within a multidisciplinary team.  

These examples allow interviewers to understand not just what you know, but how you think and act in practice, particularly in fast-paced or high-pressure environments.  

For example, explaining how you assessed risk in a clinical situation, adapted your communication style to a patient’s needs, or contributed to improving a service process gives tangible evidence of your clinical judgement, teamwork, and professionalism.
